The
Daintree and Cape Tribulation region is regarded by Biologists
as a living museum of plants originating in the Gondwana
super continent. It is a sanctuary for the many animals, birds, reptiles
and fascinating insects unique to the Wet Tropics in Far North Queensland.
The flora in the Daintree/Cape Tribulation rainforests includes several of the first flowering plant species from which all plants originated. There are over 150 species of trees; some are over 3,000 years old. Wet Tropics wildlife
includes at least 70 animals unique to this region and there are more
than 700 plants in the wet tropics found nowhere else in the world! |

| Our
"mad" scientist guides will show you the dark side
of this ancient forest as they lead you along nature trails into the world
little changed in 120 million years.
Watch out for unique fauna - snakes, lizards, possums, bandicoots, spiders, dragons, birds (including the cassowary) and insects that make a night walk in the Daintree rainforest a must do experience. The walking tracks require moderate fitness and walks last 2 hours. |
