Cape Tribulation Overnight Tour
Our Cape Tribulation Overnight tour allows guests to take in the landscape and tranquility of Cape Tribulation at their own pace, whilst experiencing all the highlights of the Active Tropics Explorer Tour.
Guests need to secure their own reservation for accommodation in Cape Tribulation, choosing from a number of options in the heart of the Rainforest. We encourage guests to check availability for their preferred accommodation option prior to securing your Active Tropics reservation.
Departing from Cairns, this tour follows the natural contours of the East Coast along the Great Barrier Reef Drive – a stunning drive with panoramic views over the Coral Sea.
Mossman Gorge at the entrance of the Daintree is the first stop on this tour. You will be welcomed to this country by the Traditional Owners – The Kuku Yalanji people. A Welcome to Country and smoke ceremony will be performed to cleanse you of evil spirits and welcome you to the traditional lands. Embrace the Mossman Gorge by going for a refreshing swim or setting out on one of the short walks.
The next stop will be the Daintree River Cruise. This fully guided tour winds through the unique tropical ecosystem of the Daintree River. Learn about the flora and fauna that make this region so unique!
After a morning of exploring, it’s time for lunch! A lunch meal is included in this tour, enjoyed in the middle of the rainforest.
It’s now your turn to plan your own experience! You will be transferred to your self-arranged accommodation to spend the afternoon (or even a few days) at leisure.
On your booked pick-up day, you will re-join the tour from 2.15pm.
Highlights will include a Guided Tour of the Marrdja Botanical Boardwalk, and a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Co (time permitting).
There will be a final photo opportunity at the Alexandra Range Lookout (Walu Wugirriga). This lookout provides sweeping views over the Daintree River, its rainforest delta and out to the Coral Sea, before making our way back to Cairns via Port Douglas.
