This two-day journey kicks off in Cairns, heading north on the Great Barrier Reef drive towards the Daintree Rainforest. This morning you’ll cruise the Daintree River looking for saltwater crocodiles and other creatures, before continuing your adventures to Cape Tribulation. After a delicious lunch at the Turtle Rock Café, you take to the treetops of the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests on a high ropes, zipline adventure with Treetops Adventure.

Free time this afternoon to explore the beach and settle into your accommodation at the Safari Lodge. All rooms are air conditioned for your comfort and there’s an onsite pool for swimming. There’s 3 options for accommodation: Shared Single in a Cabin which sleeps 3 (1 Bunk Bed, 1 Single Bed) with a shared bathroom; Single in a Cabin (Twin / King Bed) with private ensuite; Shared in a Cabin (Twin Beds) with private ensuite. Dinner and breakfast can be bought at the Turtle Rock Café (at your own expense and in addition to the tour price).

Day 2 starts with an epic half-day Great Barrier Reef tour with Ocean Safari, including snorkelling at two sites. Expect colourful corals, schools of parrotfish, sea turtles, starfish, clams and more. All gear is included and their guides are on hand to ensure a safe, fun experience for all experience levels. Lunch is at your own expense today and can be purchased from the Turtle Rock Café. This afternoon, rejoin our group for an afternoon exploring more of the Daintree Rainforest on guided boardwalk tours with our knowledgeable guides. They’ll point out key plants of interest and explain some of the evolutionary processes of the rainforest. If there’s time, we’ll stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Co for some exotic fruit ice-cream and sorbets (at your own cost).

Then it’s on to the Daintree Ferry to cross over the Daintree River, before connecting with Traditional Owners for a Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony at Mossman Gorge. A truly memorable experience. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool, clear waters of Mossman Gorge. The beauty of this place is breathtaking, large granite boulders smoothed by the flowing waters, surrounded by tropical rainforest with dragonflies dancing through the air.

End the day with a scenic drive back to Cairns with an ever-changing view, from sugar cane fields to the Coral Sea, through the outskirts and into the city.
